Kurtis' first Varsity touchdown

Rams, Hernandez run over BourgadeOctober 02, 2009 11:48 PM

Antelope's Erick Hernandez rushed for 286 yards and scored three touchdowns on 17 carries to lead the Rams to a 34-0 road win over Bourgade Catholic on Friday night.
The 200-plus yard performance was Hernandez's second of the season. The running back chewed up most of his yardage in the third quarter where he broke off two touchdowns on 65 and 70-yard runs. He scored Antelope's first touchdown on a 1-yard run to start the Rams' offense in the first quarter.
The Rams (3-2 overall, 2-0 2A West) also got a strong showing from quarterback Cody Rivera, who threw his first touchdown of the season to Kurtis Skousen for Antelope's second score of the night.
Rivera racked up 101 yards on nine carries of his own, including a 1-yard quarterback sneak.
"We came out and ran the ball very well, and our defense got some big stops and their second shutout of the year," Antelope coach John Blabe said. "Cody stepped up and had a surprise performance for us, but Erick stole the show tonight."
